Colonel Sander’s Makeover

Don’t you get tired of things going stale for awhile? Sure, old school has always made a come back,
but even then things start to stink a bit if they are left unattended.
It so happens that our Asian counterparts,
most specifically the Japanese, have turned old news into “freaking-awesome-you-gotta-see-this” news.

OK, so what am I talking about here? It is no surprise that KFC has made it’s way into the Japanese consumers.
In a country where people are obsessed with fish, rice and sake, there’s little room for fried chicken, but KFC
has played it right and gain a lot of popularity, having restaurants all over the country.
But then as I was saying, things go stale and well… so do sales.

To find an answer to this problem, a very clever strategic approach was taken. It so happens that with the recent rise of the “otaku” culture in Japan, a lot of people have come to see things being “Moe” and what
better way to promote KFC than “pimping” Colonel Sanders, but not the kind of pimping us Americans are
used to, but rather the “Gothic” kind of the Akihabara street-mongers. Akihabara is known for it’s colorful people and Gothic scene, so we saw this one coming.
Anyhow, I present to you the all new and improved Colonel Sander… in a maid suit!

That’s right folks! Colonel Sander is now officially… well Moefied.
I love how Japanese people turn day-to-day things into out-of-this-world things.
Now, if we could only start seeing those here… I’ll have myself some good ol’ fried chicken.

Eat your heart out Garfield!!!

If there’s anything that i truly admire about the Japanese is their sense of cuteness, and to prove it i bring you… *drum-roll* “Memebon”.
What?, Who?, Where?.
Relax, it’s just the most adorable kitten in the whole universe~!
She’s the result of breeding a Scottish Fold and a Persian cat.

She has a very peculiar look by the way, and not to mention she also has her own website, blog, buttons, mugs and a zillion other merchandise available at her disposal.

She’s ready to take over the world!, and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.
Expect a few thousand people die from cuteness, or fall pray to her unavoidable looks.
Ah well, I’ll have to admit i almost did fell in love with her, if i wasn’t a dog person that is.

Oscar Mayer would be proud *sniff*

Ah yes, nothing sets the mood like watching a gigantic penis being carried around town.
Indeed, it’s that time of the year for the Japanese when they get to celebrate their infamous “Hōnen Matsuri”, a fertility festival that takes place on the 15Th of March (we’re a bit late now tho).
The most known place for the festival to take place is the town of Komaki, on the northern part of Nagoya.
Shinto priests play a variety of instruments while others carry on their backs a gigantic wood penis.
Roughly at 620lbs and 96 inches long (calm down ladies), this colossal
phallus makes people from all over Japan have a good time.
Now, if someone could make a gigantic condom as well, it would serve as both a festival and a safe-sex awareness campaign. *jiggle*

McPorn, I’m lovin’ it!

So it seems Japanese people have a morbid fascination for fast food,
and McDonnalds seems the right place to shoot a porno film.
Hold on a minute… porno at McDonnalds?!. Damn Right!!!
“McPorno” was shot at Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture. Nahoko Shimada and her 21 year old companion agreed to shoot a porno film at McDonnalds to help a run-down AV director pay his fines.
The director’s excuse to shoot the film there was that McDonnalds is a cheap place, and well, why bother spending money on location right?. Now, if we could only get that kind of service here,
I’ll be getting my Mc-On every time i go!

The man who sold the world

It’s no surprise that I’m a big fan of Cobain, not only was he the greatest rockstar of the 90’s, but he introduced a new sound to the stale glam-rock medium that populated the radio; and since we’re getting close to the date of his passing away (April 5), I decided to post a video that in my opinion reflects the spirit of his wild persona.
